So I replaced my Lenovo Y40's screen with a better one: goo.gl/FlpUdh
The brightness on the new screen seems lower than it should be. I've reformatted (for other reasons) since installing it so it doesn't seem to be driver related. I've tried researching the issue and haven't found much. Any help is appreciated.

You probably got a knockoff panel. The item listing at the top and product description lists both LP140WF1 and B140HAN01. The first is a LG panel number. The latter is a AUO panel number. So the panel you got is probably some generic panel which is compatible with those two panels. Not a real LG LP140WF1 nor a AUO B140HAN01.

Edit: Try installing this program, and see what it says your monitor/panel is. Manufacturer and model number.
