Since, like most other people who have this board, my NB runs at around 64 degrees C at idle I am looking into getting a replacement for the crappy heatsink that DFI packages with the mobo. I know it has those little retention clips so I don't know which one I should get to replace it. Someone recommended me this Thermaltake heatsink

But I am not positive if this will work. I checked the DFI website but I couldn't find anything on there about replacements. If anyone can give any feedback I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

i am getting the same mobo soon im going to put a coolermaster blue ice pro on the nb i'll post the nb temps when i am done

well i havn't got my new mobo yet, but i threw it on my old mobo a DFI 848p-AL and the nb temps from the stock cooler with a temp of 33c and with the blue ice pro a temp of 28c and the mounting system is set up for the "intel" style hook mounting so you can use good thermal paste instead of some "glue" and the blue lights looks cool

I replaced it with a Thermalright HR-05 SLI and it dropped my temps 15 degrees! I recommend it heartily for the 975X/G! Now NB sits idle at 47 and maxes 63 at full load in a 44oC environment in the case. Just awesome!

wow, the northbridge really idles at around 60º for you guys?? on mine, with stock heatsink, it idles at 39-43, depending on room temperature. i was even thinking of purchasing an aftermarket HS, but after hearing this i think i changed my mind

I have a DFI LT X38 MOBO And I replaced the NB cooler with thermalright ultra-90 cpu cooler and I'm using a HR-01 PLUS to cool the cpu
