Question Replacement parts for laptop motherboard ICs ?

Hello forum members,

I am currently investigating if there are spots on the internet, where people that deal a lot with repairing motherboards hang around, since I am on the lookout for a replacement for a specific IC on my motherboard.

Maybe this is one of these places? Anyways, to be more specific, I am looking for an IC that (I assume) controls/drives the LAN port. The name written on it is:

REALTEK
8111H
L51GJ21
GL21

Looking for these on vendor sites is close to pointless, since there are very many variations of this kind of chip. I assume that the driver needed to run a specific one however is not compatible across many versions of it, which is why I am trying to find at least one that is close to it (or maybe someone who knows more about that).

As far as I see it, asking for this kinda stuff does not violate any rules and I could not find any threads searching for "realtek", so I hope putting this question here is fine.

Look up its datasheet and find the variant you want,

You can get the part from online electronic distributors, eg Mouser, Digi-Key, and Arrow. Or simpler, browse eBay or Amazon to find a NIC with said IC. No need to get an entire motherboard.

Well thanks! I was overcomplicating the situation by wanting to find an IC that matches the entire string written on it, but now I understood that it's not necessary/impossible because it's mostly an individual chip number. I also think that the thread should have been in the "components" subforum, since I never intended to buy a whole new motherboard just to replace one dysfunctional IC.
