Replacement screen for Dell Inspiron 3147?

Hi.

My kid's Dell Inspiron 3000 3147 11.6 convertible laptop has a cracked screen. Everything works but I don't want her playing with broken glass. Dell can't help. No repair shop in Toronto has the parts. I can't find parts in North America. Should I order one from China? Wait? I take it Dell used a variety of suppliers and screens for this line. My part is LP116WH6 (SP) (A2). Anyone done this? Computer cost $400 CDN ... I see parts from China for about $140 ... you see my issues. Thanks

Sorry, I don't understand the question. My bad.

The glass is broken, the touchscreen worked on half the screen at first. Now there are more cracks (I opened it up to get part info) and I think the touch function is gone now.

The Dell part number is OF5KCX. I opened up the unit and found this number inside .. LP116WH6 SPA2

I have seen parts on AliExpress ... like this ...

I would have been happy to hand this over to a repair shop. I know a few. But no one has parts. Would it be a mistake to order the part above? The Dell part number doesn't match .. but does that matter, since the other one does.? Anyone have any experience with this?

I purchased a screen from China (Aliexpress). I installed it myself and it worked perfectly .. except the touchscreen function didn't work. I sought professional help. Computation on Jane Street in Toronto showed me what I had failed to do. There are small tabs that have to be inserted carefully into slots. I was too cautious (and too worried about breaking them). They are finicky, I was told. The tech at Computation put them in properly and my screen and computer now work perfectly. I was careful to get the right screen for my 3147 and I am very happy with the result.

They were very careful to make sure they sent me the right unit. The had me send pictures of the stickers on the old unit to ensure I got the correct part. I was pleased with the service and now that I know about those little (polymer?) tabs I'm sure I could do the whole replacement myself.

KEY TIP when the computer says "No Pen or Touch Option" it's probably a sign the screen isn't physically connected the proper way.

Please see my post. Problem solved with a new screen. Tricky to install, but doable.
