I'm hoping to replace my AMD 8350 for an Intel cpu and I wanted to try and get something that isn't too expensive as most Intel cpus are. I was wondering if you folks could point me in the right direction for a cpu that performs as well or more as my 8350 around the $240 range.

Thanks guys

just the cpu I wouldn't mind a mother option to I'm thinking for total about $300-320

The game I'm currently playing doesn't support AMD all that well so I'm moving over. I have a r9 290 currently so no need for getting an upgrade soon. EDIT: It's the cpus the game hates not the gpus as well.

I do have the cpu Overclocked to 4.9Ghz, I'll take a look at that

Also you should know that any Intel CPU in the $240 price range can't keep up with an FX 8350 @4.9GHz in multithreaded applications. So in a way this will be a bit of a downgrade for some things such as video editing or streaming but it will be an upgrade as far as gaming is concerned. If you want an all around upgrade then you have to get a $330 Core i7 CPU. I recommend waiting for the new 6th generation Intel processors to be released before upgrading though. They should be released sometime next month.

Yeah I don't do any of that stuff and apparently my OC didn't hold so I'm back at 4.2 Ghz for now.
