Replacing BenQ Drive In an Xbox

My Xbox drive got the open tray error. I have tried everything to get it back and running but I have had no luck. I am interested in replacing the DVD drive. The DVD drive that came in my Xbox was a BenQ VAD6038. If I buy this exact model online, will I need to flash it or will it be a simple swap? Thanks. i believe the benq model has some wires that are soldered to the board which control the motor and whatnot. if you are decent with a soldering iron it is easier to move the board from one drive to the other, or you can always just buy the laser for the drive and replace it, which is normally the issue if the motor for the drive is still good.
