Hey I was just wondering before I replace my CPU and GPU is there anything I need to install/delete before replacing the old ones?
I have a Nvidia Ge force GTX 1060 and replacing it with a RTX 2070 Super

I have a AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and replacing that with a Ryzen 5 3400G

Thanks.

For the CPU you will need to make sure that your BIOS is at a level to support the 3000 series CPUs. For the CPU upgrade I would go with either the Ryzen 5 2600 and overclock it or the Ryzen 5 2600X over the 3400G. The 2600X & 3400G have the same clock speed and both are Zen+ CPUs so for an extra $6 you get an extra 2c/4t with the 2600X. If you want a Zen2 CPU then you would have to go with the 3600 or higher.

Hmm, you should buy Ryzen 5 2600 or 3600 instead, since 3400G has an intergatred gpu installed on it.

I have already ordered the 3400G l. Will this be a problem for me or will it still work fine?

Thanks but as I have just mentioned above I've already ordered the 3400G apart from that I won't need to do anything for the GPU correct?

The 3400G will still work fine, but you could have gotten more for your money.

In theory since you are going nVidia to nVidia you won't have to worry about anything with the GPU.

Yeah probably would've been wiser asking what was best before buying but oh well it's done now. Great! Thank you for your help and hope you have a happy new year!
