I am unsure if this is in the correct category, but anyway. I bought an new cpu, an i7 7700k to upgrade my older i5 6500. When i placed the i7 7700k in my motherboard(asus b150m-c, i also updated this one to the latest bios version)the pc went fine to the bios one beep code, cpu showed fine. But it only showed half of the ram that i had installed.(8 instead of 16). When i pressed save and exit, the pc restarted but i did not get a single beep code afterwards, it only kept running and running. I've tried resetting CMOS which ended up just in a loophole, started up. 1 beep code, bios, and running forever again. Does anyone know my problem? Thanks

You may want to inspect the CPU and the CPU socket for any signs of bent/broken CPU pins. That would be the likely culprit with first time CPU drop ins/builds. You might also want to share your full system's specs and your OS for us to get a bigger picture. List them as:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Please list the BIOS version you updated to.

None of the pins are bent as far as i know. I replaced the i5 back in there and pc works fine.
