I am currently using this motherboard COLORFUL-A320M-K PRO YV14 with a Ryzen 3 3200g. And I got a Ryzen 5 3600 and Gtx 1660ti on the way.

more info about my mobo version:
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5.14, 11/5/2019
SMBIOS Version 3.2

Do I need to some update in my BIOS?
thank you in advance

Welcome to the forums, necomer!

According to the CPU support list;
https://en.colorful.cn/product_show.aspx?mid=84&id=866
you're going to need BIOS version 1015 at the very least before you can drop in the Ryzen 5 3600 on that motherboard.

Which means you have BIOS update(s) pending.

hello I appreciate the quick response, I just updated my bios into 1010 and I was shaking the whole time. I chose the 1010 because the 1015 needs to be installed using the BIOS via flash drive. and there is no tool option in my BIOS.
this information also displays on the BIOS version I installed

5:support matisse series CPU(3500/3500X/3600/3600X/3700X/3800X)

so maybe I'm good to go right?

If it says support from 1015 then that's the lowest you should even try.

Actually, I'd strongly suggest going with the latest BIOS available (which is 1015). Reason being it fixes several performance problems and sets up your system for better security.

Don't fret updating your BIOS from flash drive. Just follow instructions in your manual. It's really quite safe and very easy. The one thing to watch for is to not disturb it while updating, which is an important caution whichever method you use. That means be patient and let it finish and to also not do it during thunderstorms or anything else that might interrupt power.
