Question Replacing GDDR5 gpu to a GDDR5X one

Hello everyone, im planning to buy GTX 1080 Ti which memory type is GDDR5X, and mine GTX 950 is GDDR5
My main question, will it work?

The only sticking point is the power supply. What manufacturer and model and how old is it?

Wattage only doesn't provide any useful information.

The VRAM type will not affect whether or not it works.

As hotaru.hino rightly pointed out, your PSU has to be able to handle the increased power demand. The GTX 950 has a TDP of 90W while the GTX 1080 Ti has a TDP of 250W. That's a 160W difference which is huge.
