It appears that Gigabyte's marketeers have decided to dump their customers and no longer offer any kind of decent support for the GA-MA770-UD3 mainboard. I guess I need to replace it with another, mainstream, built for computing not playing unit. Right now the Ma770 is used for photoscanning, media archiving, and general office work. I'd prefer to stick with AMD processors. Any suggestions?

The board is over 10 years old now. At some point, you have to pull the plug on support because the chances of someone needing it over time diminishes and that person could be better put on supporting products that people are more likely to use.

So is the board dead or do you want us to help troubleshoot the board?

If it's dead, then an A520 AM4 based board with say a Ryzen 5300G or 5600G will do fine here. If you want to have a bit more features, bump it up to B550.

Oh, the board works great. I just want to OC it or upgrade the kit. I've read good things about the B550 kit, so maybe I'll do that. Hopefully Best Buy will take the old boy in for recycling.

Which kind of support are expecting. newer BIOS and drivers?
Can't see any need for BIOS version after all those years it's as mature as it can be. There's no CPU and RAM made for it in production.

What's your budget? Keep in mind that you'll need a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM, and unless you get an AMD CPU with a G in the name or the latest AMD CPUs, you'll also need a GPU. It's been nearly as long since motherboards had integrated graphics.

I'm not sure what kind of support you're expecting for a motherboard that came out 14 years ago. Or even what kind of support you could even be looking for. The motherboard already supports anything it was ever able to do.
