Hello,

I'm considering upgrading the 970 in my G20 to a 1660 TI and just wanted to make sure there's nothing I'm over looking. The new card looks to be about 3 inches less in length and only about 0.1 inches wider, so I anticipate that it will fit. I'm assuming my 970 already has the 6 and 8 pin connectors to plug the 1660 TI into the motherboard. It draws less power than the 970 so I can't imagine I'd need to update my PSU. However, the card's Amazon page says they recommend a 450W PSU. My G20 has a 180W and 230W. Will that be a problem?

I'm upgrading the card mainly to run SteamVR games on my Oculus Quest via Link. I have an i7-6700, so I think I'm good on the CPU side.

Is there anything else I may be overlooking in this process?

Thanks

His system uses external power bricks, like a laptop. https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/ROG-G20CB/overview/

Correct. What does this mean for me? I saw an answer on Amazon that mentioned something about there being an issue with the Graphics Card getting power from the motherboard instead of directly from the PSU. Is that true you think? In addition, does it seem likely that the dual PSU that I have will be sufficient?

Thanks

Are there any other components I need to worry about in terms of optimizing the new card? Motherboard, PCIe slot, etc?
