Hi my PC started freezing up and files started becoming corrupted so I have ordered a new hard drive in hopes of solving this. My only question is what will happen to my operating system (was currently windows 7) I still have the disc from when I purchased it but is that enough to reinstall it? I've been browsing a lot of different forums which are saying different things. I'd be really grateful if someone here could give me a definitive answer.

If you have the original installation media, you can install onto a new HD. You need to backup your data ASAP. You may be able to read data off the existing disk after you install a new HD. But one more power cycle might be too many and it won't come back. You just can't predict failure with that fidelity.
