replacing hdd with a ssd + ssd already existed for cache...is it possible??

so i have a laptop with a 1 tb hdd and a 24 ssd for cache...asi found out u can't do anything with the 24 ssd...but what if i replace the hdd with a large ssd??what happens to the 24 ssd for cache??is it still working as a cache??

First - What are the brands and models of your laptop, your hard disk drive, and your solid state? The reason I am asking is that I am trying to determine if your laptop does indeed have 2 separate drives (hdd plus ssd) or if you have a hybrid drive.

Temporarily the short answer to your question is that one would not use a small ssd as a cache for another ssd.

OK - Lenovo specifications are pretty clear. You have two separate drives rather than a single hybrid drive. That gives you an excellent option. Since you have two headers/connectors for storage devices you could have a large capacity ssd for the OS and applications and a hard drive for data files in your laptop. That is a very common scenario. About the only thing to identify is the type and interface of the old ssd. In all probability it is an mSATA ssd with a standard mSATA connector. Unfortunately the Lenovo web site does not provide any information. You'll probably have to open the back panel and have a look.

thanks for helping...actually i have seen a video of a guy replacing the ssd on youtube....so i just need to save money for a new ssd,probably a 128 gb....you are a Master
