Hi everyone.
I could use some help building my new gaming pc.
Recently the 8700k price went up to 469€ in my region, which is about 535$. So I want to replace the 8700k with a i5 9600k. Almost the same 1080p performance for 130€ less is a good deal.

The "new" setup I´m going to buy at the end of novemeber:

i5 9600k with Alpenföhn Brocken 3
16gb ripjaws v 3200 cl16
?070 gtx (not sure yet)
sharkoon pure steel tower
z??? motherboard

from old system:
1tb ssd samsung
530w TT silver

Which motherboard is a good choice?
Which one to pick for overclocking? Targeting ~5ghz+ all core.
Is there a noticeable difference between z370 and z390?

Thanks in advance!

Ryzen is a very good option. This would be just as good for gaming as what you were looking at previously. Maybe better.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz 8-Core Processor (€307.99 @ Mindfactory)
Motherboard: ASRock - Fatal1ty X470 Gaming K4 ATX AM4 Motherboard (€165.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (€137.90 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB SC2 Gaming iCX Video Card (€613.90 @ Alza)
Case: Fractal Design - Define R6 Black TG ATX Mid Tower Case (€129.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Total: €1355.77...
The only major differences between Z370 and Z390 are the inclusion of native wireless AC and native USB 3.1 gen2.

Everything else is exactly the same including, on most boards, power delivery VRM designs.

Any of the high end ASUS or ASRock boards would be good choices. What is your motherboard budget?

Budget is 1300€/1500$ happy when its cheaper.
Is a r7 2700x also an option? I´m streaming CS:GO and BlackOps 2 times a week.
Just saw that its cheaper than an i5 9600k in my region. Never considered ryzen tbh

Or even better, but a little more. Actually, MUCH better if you really want to get your game on and not be looking at another upgrade in two years.
