Replacing Logitech g430 mic jack-plugs

Ok, I have a pair of g430's and have recently needed to replace the 3.5mm [strike]jack[/strike] jack-plugs for both the mic and the speakers. The speaker was easy to replace, but I am only seeing one wire for the mic. Any help? Like, how does this work, how would I wire a new jack to it, etc

Shield (on cable) to sleeve and red on cable to both tip and ring.

All that I can see is one bare copper wire

Ok, I just looked closer and found that there are actually two wires. One is bare copper, and the other is coated in white.

Bare copper to sleeve and white to tip and ring.
