Hi,

Just had my Gigabyte Brix BXBT-1900 die on me last week (only bought it last August) but I've been given a full refund. I was happy with it but would like something that has a quicker processor. I mainly use the PC for work (mostly excel and word).

I bought the Gigabyte Brix 1900 separately and so still have a Samsung 750 EVO 120 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive and Corsair 8GB DDR3L 1600MHZ 1x204 SODIMM Unbuffered Laptop Memory.

I'm looking at the below two options.

Intel NUC Kit BOXNUC5i3RYK Intel Core i3-5010U

Gigabyte Kaby Lake i3 BRIX S Barebone Mini PC Kit with 2.5" SATA Bay GB-BKI3HA-7100

My question is, would the gigabyte be much faster than the Intel? I understand that I would also have to buy new ram but if the speed isn't much different then I will choose Intel.

Thanks,
Oli

Between the two, would their be a noticeable difference when using an internet browser and office applications? That would be my definition.

I just noticed the Intel NUC Kit i3-5010U only takes a M2 SSD? I won't be able to use my Samsung 750 EVO

There is your deciding consideration.
