I currently have a 10 year old system i want to upgrade some, i have:

Power Supply- CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Case- Cooler Master HAF 922 - High Air Flow Mid Tower Computer Case with USB 3.0 and All-Black Interior

I'd like to get a new motherboard, CPU and Ram and was looking at these? Any thoughts would be helpful as I am not supremely computer savvy. Basic computer work, moderate gaming, nothing fancy like movie editing or whatnot.

If the PSU's 10 years old...that will need replacing with a concurrent unit. Case could be recycled but I think the heat from the processor will be an issue. Speaking of heat, what will you use to cool that processor? You're missing the cooling in the list above. To add, your parts are imbalanced, I'd get a Z series chipset motherboard to pair with that unlocked i7 processor.

Mind sharing what your prior system's specs were in order to understand what the Corsair unit you currently have powered then?

I didn't want to post too much stuff.

Everything currently works great i was hoping to keep the rest and just update those main components if possible.

If the processor is oversized for my needs, thats the help I'm asking, I just don't know, I assumed i7 was an upgrade from my current i5.

Thank you for any help, i did this sort of thing 10 years back for my current build and this website was a lot of help.

I tried to read some, would this be better without so many issues? Seems to be something like 4-5 times better than what i have atm and cost less.
