Replacing motherboard in HP Computer

Hello,

I took my computer in to compUSA and they told me my motherboard was bad. I bought a new desktop but my son wants to replace the one in the old computer.

Will this motherboard work? Is there anything else I should know before ordering?

That's a good replacement board, if you have a non hp windows install. For your original windows installation, you'll need another hp motherboard. You might get lucky and find one that will use ddr2 on craigslist. I would check there or on ebay. Or, check craigslist for an unopened windows 7 to go with your asrock board. They start at around $60.
