Question Replacing my old i7-960 with an i5-9400f

Do you think it's a good replacement? it's quite cheap right now, $49 cheaper than a ryzen 5 2600x and $126 cheaper than a i5-9600k.

I'd be pairing it with my GTX1060 6GB

You'd need new board, memory and possibly power supply, depending on the model.
I would go with the AMD though.

Coin toss for the most part, so if the Intel is cheaper, you can spend it on better cooling or something.

just wait couple of months, 3rd gen ryzen and 10th gen intel will be out soon, and current gen will get more discounts in case you dont fancy new gen chips.
