Replacing PSU with Corsair CX 600W vs. 750W

My PSU (A Cosair GS 700W) died on Saturday, luckily its still under warranty. However, they dont have this older unit in stock and Corsair has offered to replace it with either a CX 600W or a CX 750W. The obvious choice seems to be the CX 750, but the problem is they may not have this unit in until the end of March!

I`m wondering if I would be alright with a CX 600W, which they can send to me right away, or if its worth waiting about a month and a half for the 750W. Or should I ask for another deal all together?

Well, the 600 will run that just fine. I'd still take the 750 just because I like the number 7.

The CX series is a downgrade , tell them you want RM series.

A 600 Will easily run those specs.

ask for a refund ..the cx serie are bad
or ask to have the CS650M instead its not the best but not the worst

They are offering a CX because they have trouble moving them because enthusists know they have weaker capacitors in them that die over time.

I would ask for one of these (or pay the cost difference for one of them)
GS series (GS600 / GS800)
HX / HX v2 series
RM 450 / 550 / 650w models (Made by Channel Well Technology)
TX / TXM series

well..
cx series is not last long. usually fail in 2-3 years. even in first years many of cx psu has failed..

You should ask about upgrade option to HX series..

GS is equal to the RM , THEY SHOULD HAVE OFFERED YOU THAT.

As I SAID , EQUAL TO THE GS , never said it was outstanding quality.

HX , AX , TX are well above the GS series.

is the one they should give to him ..because the hx/ts/ax they are expensive unit and high end compare to the gs
or maybe the tx 650...???
anyway the most important is to not take the cx and vs like a replacement

The RM was suppose to replace the TX.

But instead they released an inferior unit.

Samsqu - I agree, that wait time is unacceptable, way too long to get a replacement. but thats not uncommon for a popular model to run out of stock. Post your ticket # here or send me a PM, I'll go ahead and get you something else that is currently available.

Not really for that reason. They offered the CX because that's the closest model to his GS which is now EOL,

Not having the CX in stock is actually the opposite of saying we're having hard time moving them. It's actually a fast mover, It beats both HX and AXi combined sales #s on a monthly basis, hence why we are having hard time keeping them in stock rather than moving them.

We are fully aware that the CX is not well regarded within the enthusiast communities, we get that. But it doesn't mean that it's the worst PSU out there, because obviously it's not, it's in demand in a category even I am not aware about. It's rather clear that the CX will not have the same reputation like the HX nor the AX. but one thing is for certain, the CX will continue out sell any of our PSU line including the VS. .

Ive never seen such utter disdain for the cx series anywhere apart from on these forums,Ive never considered the cx as a bad psu personally ,it sits firmly in that 10% tier where it offers value for money,generally decent voltage regulation & temps & at least the wattage itself can always be trusted.
For people on a tight budget,or from a country that does not have a massive selection of top tier psu's its sometimes the best if not the only option
Comments regarding these psu's stems from 'chinese whispers' imo & its spiralled from there.
Good on you for dropping in & offering to sort a quicker replacement for the OP - thats very decent service imo.

CX series isn't great. As Blackbird stated, it'll be a downgrade.
