Replacing ram on overclocked PC.

Hi, I'm looking to totally swap out my RAM for new. I've currently got 2 x 4GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance installed, and wanting to replace it with 2 x 8GB Vengeance Pro.

My question is that my system is overclocked and I fiddled with the RAM settings. I can't simply put in two more 4GB sticks as my cpu cooler is huge and blocks one of the RAM slots. So do I need to worry about the overclock settings or can I just throw the new ones in?

Solution
After detecting new RAM sticks your overclock options should automaticly get restored to default. So no worries about that.

And then it's just a case of overclocking the new sticks in BIOS?

If you want have them overclocked then yes ;)

I have no idea of the Overclocking capabilities of your motherboard.
Or, how sophisticated your overclock adjustments are.
Before you install the new ram, you might document any changes from default in case you need to re-specify them.
If your cpu overclock is a simple multiplier increase, that is easy.
Any DDR3 ram requiring more than 1.5v is technically overclocked.
But, all the requisite settings for 2400 speed will be imbedded in a XMP profile in the ram itself.
All you should need to do is to select the appropriate xmp profile in the motherboard bios ram settings
