Question Replacing the fans on a GTX 1650 Super ?

The fans on my GPU (Gigabyte 1650 Super) have started making noise(sounds like a loose bearing,) and I was initially going to upgrade the card, but I really don't think I need to beyond my concern for the health of the fans. I don't play anything that really seems to stress it that badly.

I've tried looking for replacement fans on Amazon and such and I think there are some properly sized for the card(which I think is 90mm,) but it's all unrecognizable brands. Are there any reputable manufacturers that make aftermarket replacement fans for GPUs?

I looked at Corsair and Arctic's site fairly quickly but I could only see water cooling options, whereas I'm just looking to replace the fans themselves. I've never tried messing around with a GPU before so I don't really have any idea where to look.

are you really sure that the fans of the GPU are the problem?

on this site you can chose the correct fans to fit with your card, for a reasonable price

there are no popular brand which produce spare part fans for GPUs that I know of

maybe a manual fan curve can solve your noise to a better tone

Thank you for the quick reply!
I was monitoring the fan speeds to try to determine which was the issue, I noticed the GPU wasn't running constantly and the noise always happened when it started spinning up.
I set up a manual curve using Fan Control to keep the fans running constantly around 30% and it was gone for a bit, but has started occuring sometimes while the fan is actively spinning. The card is 4 years old so while I could replace it, it seems like a waste to trash it over some plastic and bearings.

Oh Gigabyte, Idk how many Gigabyte/Arous cards I get that have failed fans or noisy fans, I've gotten as new as a Gigabyte 3070 it had one fan was locked up and other 2 were noisy and gritty.

I had a pair of Gigabyte GTX 1070s both developed fan issues as well and I clean and dust the computer every month even if its just a quick blow and wipe down, I ended up taking the coolers off both cards and peeled the stickers off and there is a little plastic clip that holds the fan onto the hub. Pull that out, it can be tricky, and clean the magnet and bushings and I used high temp automotive bearing grease, figured that would stay put longer than any oil out there. Put the fan back onto the hubs and don't worry about that plastic clip, the magnets are strong enough to hold the hub together, makes for easy cleaning, can just pull the blades right off the cooler and clean and regrease.

I don't do this for customers unless they absolute can't afford the repair I will offer it as an option then, and only then. In the future avoid Gigabyte unless you know you can find replacement fans down the road and plan to tear it apart. I still can't believe they haven't fixed their fan issues... Been and issue with lubrication for them since their WindForce crap.

It's a windforce card lol. Maybe I should just upgrade it, I was looking at an ASRock RTX 6600 on a great deal, and it's showing as an upgrade across the board although I don't really know much about benchmarking cards. What are your thoughts on ASRock?

Should also mention that my CPU is a Ryzen, if I'm not mistaken I've heard that pairing an AMD GPU with them can be good.

I broke a fan blade on my Zotac 1060Ti while dusting it with canned air (don't ask)
From Amazon I ordered a compatible no-name fan for less than $10 that fit perfectly and is totally quiet. The down side was it took 3 weeks to ship from China, and the seller keeps emailing me spam.

Replacing the fan was easy once I was able to get the 3 attachment screws undone. They were screwed in very VERY tightly and I had to borrow a larger screwdriver that would take jewelers screwdriver size bits to get them loose.

I was initially leaning to repairing it out of principle, but there are some good deals on for the RX 6600 and RX 6700 XT. Watching some videos of fan repair on Youtube, it really seems like they make them obtuse and difficult to get at. From looking at some benchmarks, they seem to be double/triple the performance of the GTX 1650, which is kind of swaying me.

I was initially hesitant due to the stigma around AMD cards, but I do see a lot of people saying the 5700 was kind of an outlier and their recent cards aren't so bad for drivers and stuttering issues. I really don't need the extra performance, but if they're reliable cards then I would probably be better served with a fresh one instead of repairing a 4 year old one.

The screws were my main concern, they look very difficult to get underneath the fan blades. It doesn't look impossible so much as incredibly tedious, but I have to decide tomorrow so I appreciate the reassurance in the even I don't feel comfortable with the AMD card. Thank you all for the input and reassurance!

Asrock is sort of new when it comes to Graphics cards, So I can't really comment on their reliability, UserBenchmark is also not a good site to use, they favor Nvidia quite a lot and if one card is not great at gaming but is great on paper, they will give it the win such as Nvidia's old Titans, your probably better off looking on youtube GTX 1650 vs 6600, someone will have a few games side by side, but always base the benchmarks on multiple sources not just one. you never know when some one is skewing numbers or they have a slower CPU.

But the 6600 is quit a bit faster, the 6700xt is even faster yet. It just comes down to what you want to spend. Can't go wrong with AMD 6000 series, best bang for buck still.

Good Luck!

Thank you, that's good to know, I'll be wary of it. My number one concern was just about poor drivers, as I've read a little bit about the 5700(I think) having driver issues in the past. I've seen some posts saying that it isn't reflective of most AMD GPUs so I was just hoping for an opinion from someone with a bit more experience.

I guess the only other thing I'm really curious about is that it's PCIe 4 but my motherboard is only 3. Obviously that will prevent it from working at 100% efficiency, but could it cause any severe issues?

6700xt on gen 3 vs gen 4, you wont see much if any difference at all, The card is just simply not fast enough to really need gen 4 lanes, heck even a 4090 there is vary little difference between the 2 in games.

As for drivers, I never had issues with AMD's drivers when I had a 6800xt, I sold it to my brother, and he's never had any major issues worth noting, as im his support guy really.

Its mostly them die hard Nvidia fans that consistently throw that around these days.

I'd say they are on par with Nvidia now a days, I've had issues both with Nvidia and AMD over the years that I wouldn't say one or the other is worse but AMD's drivers really don't do a good job of showing you where some settings are, their interface is a little more tricky to navigate, but once you use it, its not bad.
