I've been thinking of getting the Night's Kiss arty and would like to know
what a Repond Slayer is. ISTR that it's the humanoid one isn't it?
Can anyone help me?

Yes, it is a super-slayer which does double damage on the humanoid group.
There have been some additions to that group recently, too. The 'reverse' of
Repond is the Undead, that is they will do you extra damage if you attack
them with it. They are a fair bit more common than they were, sadly...my
pre-AOS ones were much treasured!

Thanks. I thought it was but couldn't find anything to confirm it.
Interesting to hear that undead is the opposite.

I was under the impression they scrapped the "opposing slayer group does double
damage when you have a slayer weapon equipped" with AoS. Has anyone
experienced this since, or are they just going off how they remember things to
be?

Yeah, they don't do that anymore. It's perfectly safe to attack
whatever you want with a slayer weapon now.

Did OSI announce this officially?

Reason I ask is I had a fencer in Fire Dungeon with a snake slayer
clearing the entrance and got attacked by a efreeti. Thing killed my
character twice so fast I didn't have time for a bandage to kick in.

After reading this I took him back and same story with a fire elemental.
Had to run outside to bandage things were going so bad. The elemental
healed itself faster then I could do damage and I had to switch to an
enhanced war fork to kill it.

It's not the toughest character in the world, GM tactics, anatomy,
fencing just above 100, 78 resist, 70 AC. Just not used to him taking a
dirt nap so fast. I've disco'd in Shame prior to the combat changes and
come back to see him sitting on his horse with a dozen dead elementals
at his feet.

I don't know that they've ever officially announced it. It was just
one of the things I noticed after AoS was released. Slayers are about
the only kind of weapon I even carry around anymore and on the
occasions where I have to use them on the opposing critter type I
haven't been taking any damage.

Of course it's possible it's changed back again. I haven't been out
hunting much lately.

Elementals are not the opposing slayer class for snakes (or reptiles, more
generally). As such, even under the old system an elemental would not do
double damage if you had a snake slayer equipped.
