Apple has the worst screen resolutions. I am an ipad3 and iphone4 user.
In a normal world. 720p 1080p are pretty standard.
Apple have to go out and create resolution like: 2880x1800, 2048x1536 (ipad3) and 1136x640 (iphone5)
First off, iphone5 is not even HD, "retina" but not HD. Kinda silly when everything HD videos have to be downscale.
My ipad3, 2048x1536 resolution...impressive when i bought it. Now that I have it. I think it's a pointless. iPad3 is NOT widescreen. Ugly black borders are always presence when i watch videos. Now that apple iOS6 abandoned YouTube. Google youtube app does not support High Def. HD youtube videos look horrible. I also find that ipad3 processor is too weak to play 1080p files. Beside MP4 format, ipad could not handle 1080p MKV format. I have a lot of movies with SRT subtitles. I bought an app player (proplayer) but movies looks like a slideshow. iPad3 processor barely handle 720p mkv files.
Valve steam has proven that with the same spec. Windows get more FPS than OSX.
Why do you think game latest titles come out on window. Because windows pc machines have the hardware to run it.
The macbook pro might have a beautiful display, but...I think 2,880x1,800 is pointless since OSX:
1. No native bluray support.
2. With this kind of resolution, you will need two highend desktop gpu running crossfire or sli to run any new game titles.
3. The GT650M is a joke in term of gaming gpu
@kcorp2003. Intel ultrabook is barely getting 1080p? I guess you never heard of the Asus Zenbook Prime? the 13.3inch ultrabook with 1080p resolution. It's been out for a while now.
The new 13inch macbook has 2560x1600 resolution. Again, Why?
I guess mac people can watch tons of 1080p movie trailers
