If the op would have lifted his eyes a bit from his iPad he would have realized that Google's trend of moving system apps and features to Google apps and making them available on Play for everyone to install (a trend that was launched a few weeks ago) is intended to make system updates somewhat irrelevant. Just like 2 PCs, one with Win7 and another with Win8, they can both run the same game just as well. The OS becomes nothing more than a canvas.
This is a bizarre headline, the HTC One runs Jelly Bean already. Do you mean to say they are getting a minor upgrade consisting mostly of vanilla UI tweaks that will be covered up by Sense anyway? Nah, that headline isn't nearly as grabbing.
