Question Repurposing fans with broken blades ?

I have a dozen 80-200mm fans with a single broken blade.
Anyone have any interesting ideas of anything they can be used for?

Basically, nothing I can think of.

With a missing blade, they are now off balance.
Spin up, and they will die in short order. And be noisy until they do.

Trying to use it as a fan is not an "interesting idea".
At least all the blades would all need to be removed to repurpose.


If you gut the insides, adding 1-2 frames in front of a working fan will make a decent direct blower (not a great use, but it's something).

But if you remove all the blades, you've got a perfectly fine spinning surface. Still useless, but won't die.

Thiers a few artists projects a spinning surface is good for, but the few I can think of (phenakistoscope, or a rotating display surface for something need it to spin a lot slower than a 12v fan would even down at its lowest spinning voltage (4-5v)

Right.
As said, basically nothing I can think of.

They spin too fast to be used for anything but a fan, and can't be used as a fan.


Maybe someone else will have an idea.

Cut off 60% of the frame, shave off the fans and make an batter powered toy car? Add rubber bands for traction.
