Computers are 4600 and 8300 Win Xp Home

Neither of these computers will erase rewriteable media.

Software I have tried.

Microsoft ( built in eraser)
Sonic Record now 65
Nero66
SuperBlank 3

Does anyone have an idea on what is wrong?

Have tried Cds by Maxell, Phillips, TDK and Memorex.

I can only assume, Dell, has screwed up.

Burners are Nec dvd rw, Teac dvd rw and HL DT Cdrw

Thank you for any help

Joe

Sorry, but it is likely user error, not some Dell consipiracy. Let us know
the model number of the computer, the OS version, the exact error message.

Disable winxp IMAPI:
Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services, double-click "IMAPI CD
Burning", click Stop, then set "Startup type" as "Disabled".

Uninstall ALL burn softwares, and run Nero Clean Tool:
http://www.nero.com/us/ns4_631940828445001.html

Reinstall only RecordNow and try erase one problem disc.
If successful, reinstall DLA and try erase another problem disc.

(Note: Nero MultiMounter conflicts with RecordNow/DLA in detecting blank
disc.)

OK, I have to ask the obvious question. You ARE using CD-RW disks or DVD+RW
disks, right? You're not trying this with CD-R or DVD+R disks.
