[REQ] is necropotence still used?

there was a time, before i quitted magic, when decks with necropotence
simply won, no matter what...but now i see all the t1, t1.5 and t1
unpowered decks, and there's no trace of it in any of them (well, in
type1.5 of course 😉.
so i'm wondering if it's still viable a necrodeck, considering i
usually play in a very low profile type1 metagame
also, do you know any site/resource that keeps track of the story of
the decks in magic? i mean a kind of honor roll, with primer of
strongest decks in a given time, and/or evolution of popular deck
types like ponza, sligh etc...

Necropotence got restricted in T1 and it's banned in every other format,
either because it was banned or because it's out of rotation. The closest
deck you can get to the original Necro in T1 (Vintage) is Nether Void, using
Vampiric Tutor or Demonic Tutor to fetch the Necropotence.

In terms of sites that provide some decks, here's what I would suggest
looking at:

http://www.mtgnews.com for the forums and discussion on all three formats.
