So, as the title describes, I'm planning my second system soon and I'd like some feedback that will help me feel confident in my soon to be purchase. I feel pretty confident as it is, but it's always better to have more than one persons opinion.

The plan is...

Cpu: Intel Core i7-4790k Haswell 4.0GHz

Gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclocked 4GB

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-z97x LGA 1150 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128722

Psu: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W

Ram: Corsair Vengence 16gb 2x8GB DDr3

OS: Win 8.1 regular

opt drive: Asus blue-ray

HDD/SSD: (1TB Seagate 7200rpm that I already own) Samsung Evo 2.5 250GB (plan on purchasing for OS and 1-2 games.)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147372

Any assistance is greatly appreciated and I'd love to hear your opinions on what you'd change and where, if at all, you'd try to save a buck or two.

Thanks!!

Also, as an after thought. I've read that the Maxwell, and Haswell architecture for the gpu and cpu are actually more energy efficient, and require less power, if that's the case would I be able to go with a lower watt psu?

Solution
PSU is overkill, you don't need it. Get a Seasonic 620, way cheaper and more than enough for i7 and gtx 980.
If you are planning on doing sli, I would suggest you go with an Antec HCG-750M. (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg750m). It's built by seasonic too and has great quality. You could go cheaper on the mobo too. This mobo should be more than enough for your needs:

You might also want a cpu cooler, especially if overclocking.
The rest looks fantastic.

I've swapped out the 1200 watt for a 750 watt psu still AX series by corsair, going with platinum plus because more energy efficient means lower power bill. Hopefully hahah. But i think im going to stick with the motherboard just because the 8 usb ports on the back seems really pleasing to me.

I'm going to wait until after I build it in the case I plan on getting before I buy an after market cpu cooler to make sure I have room. I'd hate to buy it and find out i cant put the side of my case on because its in the way.

A closed loop watercooler should fit any case.

I've been looking up on some water coolers. which ones do you recommend.

Anything from corsair should be good. Depending on how much you can spend, go with a better or worse one. I think the best bang for the buck is the h100i, over that it's not worth it.
