I recently upgraded my ram and was wondering if i'm bottlenecking myself
Specs;
Asus m5a78l-m lx
Amd phenom ii 910
Superclocked gtx 460
And 1 2gb ddr2 667mhz and 1 8gb ddr3 hyperx fury black 1600mhz ram
I previously had 2x2gb ddr2 667mhz ram and replaced 1 with an 8 and was wondering if it would be faster if i removed the 2gb stick and only kept the 8gb stick instead of both of them

Solution
You should be fine and not bottlenecked, while you are using a single stick (thus single channel) you have twice the DRAM you had and it may be running faster which will overcome the gain you would have in dual channel mode over single
The Asus M5A78L-M LX motherboard doesn't support DDR2 RAM, and both RAM type sockets are different so if you can fit both ram types it may be another model, and in such case, either one or the other will work on it's own, not both DDR2 and DDR3 at the same time...

Do you have a picture of the motherboard or the exact model?
