Requirements of a small LAN party (10 - 20 people)

It's my 18th next month and I'm looking to hire out a venue for a small LAN party, trying to keep costs to a MINIMUM!

Yet to find out the average download / upload speeds of the venue but for an estimation, my house (close by) gets on average 22dwn 11up. With others in my area on > 10 < 50

Could someone give me a breakdown on the equipment I'll need and for people to be able to connect to (however limited i.e. social media / google [Not downloading games]) the internet.

I look to have at least 10 people attending but this could shoot up to 20 or more depending, i.e. console peasants whom I vaguely remember from school.

Please keep currency to GBP (£) if possible. Amazon links work unless there are deals elsewhere and I'm budgeting £50 on a switch, i.e. will 10/100 speed suit my needs or will I need gigabit?

Nothing is set in stone, let me know how you would set up the network.

All you likely need is a switch the business you are going to will likely have the router. Needless to say hopefully, the business must offer internet you will never be able to afford to put it in for a short period of time. Places like this normally have all the equipment to provide a service so they likely can include a switch with their service offering.

I suspect a 10/100 switch will be fine since the internet connection speed will be the bottleneck in the setup you describe.
