Requires Help for PSU

The pin layouts are set so they can only be used for the appropriate connector. A PCI-E power connector won't physically fit (or work) anywhere except in a graphics card external power connector. It would help if you listed/linked your current power supply.

Power consumption wise, it will be fine. However, if the PSU doesn't even have the now-a-day standard 8-pin connector for MB, it's likely that the PSU may be too old. Even a $20 budget supply from a good brand has that 8-pin connector. It's a good idea to get a new PSU if it's too old. When a PSU dies, it sometimes takes down both motherboard and CPU and even more other components with it.

My PSU has
1x8pin
2x6pin
1x4pin

I have 8pin to my motherboard but because its not using 1/3 of its power i will use the molex and connect my real 8pin and 6pin to my gpu
