So as the title explains I scored a very good deal on a 1tb SSD and went through the process of doing a clean install of Windows 7 on it (I was starting to get some driver issues, so an install was in my stars anyways). What I did not consider is that on the old HDD I already reserved my upgrade of Windows 10. I'm wondering if I have just screwed myself out of the free update, or if I'll still have the opportunity to upgrade since I'm using the same CD key as my previous install?

I have just finished installing the windows updates and security updates necessary, but have not received the prompt for the upgrade.

Thanks for any input guys.

Solution
You should be fine.
1. Reserving is NOT a requirement. It's not like they are going to run out.
2. The OS does not care what drive it is on.
3. Wait until after July 29 and see what happens. Very, very few people will actually get it right away, and those are people who have been in the Insider program for a while.
