Just built a new gaming rig a couple months back, and I've continual problems with the LEDs for my reset switch and power button. I have a MSI Z97 Gaming 7 motherboard and a Corsair 760t case. I've read the manual several times over and have watched several video tutorials on hooking up the connectors but I still have the flickering issue.

Does anyone have any possible solutions?

Is their a short in those connectors and I'm basically screwed?

Solution
Well you can't have a flickering light for your reset button - the two "lights" usually present on the front of your PC are "Hard Drive" and "Power". Reset is a simple loop that is either in Closed or Open Loop State, more easily known as on or off state so it doesn't matter if you get + and - right on "Reset" or "Power Button", they just care about the loop state :) either the two pins are looped or not - for Reset, 'connecting' the two pins momentarily by pressing the reset button activates the reset. HOWEVER for your Power LED, and Hard Drive LED, + and - MUST be correctly connected for them to behave.

Here's the PINOUT for your case wires for your MSI Z97 Gaming motherboard taken from the quick start manual that comes with it. Double check those - I have a feeling that's not wired correctly. I've taught people how to build pc's for 15 years and I like to say "No one ever hooks those up right the first time" as they're learning about +, - , what HDD LED, PW SW, Reset, PW LED, means all at the same time as hooking them up :)
