I was given an ubee modem. I tried to set it up in my home so that I can use it for wireless but it still has his name on my WiFi network. Is there anyway to delete this information or data. I went into the modems configuration by putting 192.168.0.1 into my web browser went into tools and reset but his WiFi name/network name was still there is there anyway tu delete this information/data so that I can use the modern for my wireless. Thank you

Hey thanks for the response wasnt sure i would as im new to this siut i did the rest on the back of the box as for the isp im not even sure what that is as im just now getting into computers and such

If all you want to do is to change the name of the wireless network and give that new name a different security key, look for the SSID and overwrite it with your chosen name. Select a security level and set a new security key, apply the changes and close the webpage.

I know nothing about Brighthouse but it is still possible there was an embedded login unique to your friend and that yours might be different. Can it connect to the Internet at all?

Im sorry i wasnt as specific as i should be brighthouse gave me a modem to use with no wireless access i was given an ubee router by a friend so that i can use when i plug this router in and hook it up the exact same as i did the modem my friends wireless network shows up rather than mine. i have zero intenet access as well as my network not showing supossedly he was in good standings as far as payments are concerned so i am wondering why his old network information is still on the router even after a reset via the back of the box as well as through the gateway by putting 192.168.0.1 going into tools and doing a reset. Ive been through all the settings and can not even find the wireless name i c on my computers rather than my own wireless network. i hope i clarified alot better and hope u can help me with an answer as well LOL. if not i thank you for your time regardless

Unless I'm totaly misunderstanding the situation, it seems to me that your wireless network (even though I didn't think you had one) is no longer relevant and your friend's network is now yours. So what happens when you try to get online wirelessly using that network? Did he give you the security key?

If necessary, connect wirelessly to his router to get online and we'll deal with the wireless side once you can actually connect.
