Hello! I built my current pc about a year and a half ago but am now looking to wipe my computer. I have one 500GB SSD and a 1TB HDD and have Windows 10 installed but I upgraded to it from Windows 8.1 so I do not have a windows 10 disk, just a windows 8.1 disk. Would it be possible to reset my pc through Settings > Update & security > Recovery or would I need a Windows 10 disk? Thanks!

Solution
You can either take it back to Win 8.1, or you can just redo the Win 10.

The current Win 10 Recovery will probably do what you wish. Probably no disk needed.
Although it is good to have. The MediaCreation tool have facilitate creation of USB or DVD install media.

Thanks for the reply, I would also like to check that there are no issues with resetting windows when using an SSD as a boot drive, I remember reading something years ago that suggested some SSDs have a problem with overwriting data and becoming slower, although I'm not sure if that is still an issue.

No, that is not an issue.

If it were, at least 3 of my SSD's would have died horribly by now.
