resetting my laptop without loosing windows 10

when i try to reset my pc it says something like "warning! this computer was recently upgraded to windows 10, if you continue this process you will something and something" i had to translate this somehow but basically it says if i reset my laptop it will probably jump back to win 8.1 even though this is a BRAND NEW laptop. help, what should i do to reset my laptop and keep windows 10?

IF the laptop came with a factory restore partition configured with Windows 8.1, then that is what will be reinstalled if you do a factory reset from it. Be glad it warned you it will write over your WIn10 installation. You might prefer to download/make a Win10 installation media yourself, and you can delete all partitions during the install process to remove the outdated factory restore partition if you wish. (Back up/clone the entire drive ahead of time in case something goes wrong.....)
