"Resetting" my Monitor?

I'm going to buy a LCD TV and use it as my computer monitor in the next few months, but in the meantime, I have a Samsung SyncMaster 740N (17 in.)

Basically, the colors are a little faded and some of the words are blurry and stuff.. I tried adjusting the settings and doing auto-resets and stuff using the buttons, but it's not working out so well.. Still blurry and faded colors

Is there any way to reset to factory settings or "hard-reset"?

You could recalibrate the monitor using display mate.
