Hello.
I play have a problem whit Resident Evil 4 Remake.
On some places of the game my GPU usage and power draw goes from 99% to 60% and white 50-100 Watts less. There is not much sense for me because nothing happen on the screen. Is like i pass an invisible line and everything goes down.I literally move i steps in the game and the fps goes down with 20-30.I use to tink that the cpu is not strong enave, but when i turn down the cpu treats i didn't lose any performance. If was the CPU when i turn down the cpu threats in task menager it will go even bad. It's not make any sence to me....Is just like i pass some dead line in the game. Please help.My pc specs are:
I510400f
RTX 4070 TI
2x8 3200Mhz RAM
1 TB SSD.
MOBO Gigabite B460.
1000W PSU.

Yup that GPU is most likely being bottlenecked by that CPU.
Most games are not coded to take advantage of hyperthreading so that's why you don't see much difference even after turning off hyperthreading

Run MSI Afterburner while playing and set GPU and CPU temps and usage to show onscreen. It will confirm whether you are getting a bottleneck. If the CPU is holding the GPU back you will see high usage on the CPU, and low on the GPU, which means the CPU is working hard to catch up, and the GPU is waiting to be sent the rendering data the CPU calculated.

Also, as with any cases where performance is a problem, enable any in game feature you can that would help boost it. In RE4 Remake that would be FSR 2. I would try Quality mode, then Balanced if it doesn't pro=duce the desired results.

HOWEVER, there is also a mod now you can install for RE4 Remake that allows it to work with DLSS 3.1.

The video description has links and instructions on how to install the mod.

maktovic though of course is correct that your CPU IS in fact holding your GPU back. I plugged your CPU and GPU into a bottleneck calculator and it came back saying the CPU would be running at 100%, and the GPU to just 43% of it's full potential @ 1080p, even on RE3 Remake.

This means the best fix unfortunately would be a CPU upgrade. You will also need to get a new MB, because the one you have is limited to Intel 10th gen.

Thanks for the reply. That link is for Resident Evil 3 Remake and not Resident Evil 4 Remake.
As for the usage-when the gpu usage goes down the CPU stay on the same level .If i change the settings i don't gain any fps.I try that many times and i try it now again. As i wright is like i past some dead line in the game and sudently FPS goes down alot.Noting change on the image...just one game fot steps and all goes down. And i don't know how when i cut down the CPU threads on half i dont lose any performance. If the CPU was the problem when i swich of some threads i will lose performance...and i don't...which is strange to me.
And btw that "calculator" is not acurate because on Resident Evil 3 Remake that CPU don't goes less than around 80FPS.I know because i play that game.
And i am sorry if it's bean some mistake in my wrighting but english is not my native language.

Maybe you missed that I said "even" on RE3 Remake. Bottleneck calculators are not as commonly used as some benchmarking tools are, so it's hard for them to be popular enough to have most current games available in their test suite. Also, the MAIN reason I said "even" on RE3 Remake, is you would no doubt get more of a bottleneck on RE4 Remake.

It's silly to try to assume disabling some threads on the CPU not changing performance means it's not the problem, because with bottlenecks this prominent, the GPU is going to be waiting for the CPU to send rendering data regardless, so there's no changing that.

At any rate, I'm not a big fan of people arguing about the conclusions people experienced with building and upgrading PCs are giving, when they clearly are in need of such advice. So I'll let someone else help out if you're lucky enough to get anyone that wants their advice turned into a debate. LOL

LOL....you got me wrong .I didn't notice that you wright "even".I also DON"T want to turn my question into a debate.
THE ONLY THING that i want was to get an answer that i understand...and in the end i got it.
I think that you turn it to a debate but i don't wanna goes into that.
And because of the reply you give me and for that that you help me understand the hole "bottleneck" think i thank you.

You might try updating your GPU drivers and monitor GPU temp during gameplay to make sure it isn't thermal throttling. You can also try turning off CPU intensive settings such as Ray tracing. Also make sure you are using atleast a 750W good quality power supply for your system.

Other than that there isn't much you can do to improve your minimum fps in RE4 Remake since the Remake isn't well optimised for taking advantage of multiple cores of CPU and heavily relies on single core performance of CPU which can only be improved by overclocking your CPU or in your case updating to a more recent generation of CPU.

My driver are up to date and my temps are ok.I chech them on MSI Afterburner. And as i wright my PSU is 1000W which i got not two monts ago(so it's practicly new).As for the Ray tracing when i turn them off on mercenery mod i got good fps,but when i turn them off on campaign it din't help which is very strange.
