you need to download games for windows live http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/Live/Pages/livemarketplace.aspx it should work then

Or you can just download the file xlive.dll alone and put it in your folder c:\windows\system32 it's working as well.

Should have installed itself when you installed RE5 and Games for Windows Live client.

If not, reinstall Games for Windows Live. If that doesn't work, is your's a legitimate copy?

BTW, you're not the same guy that Mediamonkey already asked about where you got your copy from are you?
