It's great!

Not as good as the first one, which is superlative (and has a better
sountrack and is /clever/, of all things), but still eminently
satisfying for those people who wish to see Alice kill zombies and
outwit evil hypertech conspiracies.

Many, many people are going to disagree with me. They're all crazy.

IMHO, Apocalypse was a better movie than the original. With the first one, I
felt I should have had a game controller in my hands; Apocalypse unfolded as a
better told story. Not the best movie anyone will see this year, but certainly
a very enjoyable way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Regards,

V

It was filmed in Hamilton (and Toronto), which makes it good enough for
me. Haven't seen it yet, though.

Quite visibly so. A certain building is very, very recognizeable.

You're in for a treat, provided you remember that it's essentially a
saturday morning cartoon, except live-action and with gore and nudity.

Yeah, I keep seeing TO City Hall in the TV advertisements. Assuming
that's what you're referring to. 🙂

Woot! That's pretty much what I was expecting out of it, so I think
I'll be satisfied.

The giant circular double building thing? It's got a big role in the
climax.

I agree. Good stuff. If you liked the first movie, you'll probably
like this one too.

Yeah, at the very end, and then he dies. We are talking about the same
Nemesis that was a major sympathetic character in the first movie, which
ties directly into Alice's guilt complex over not saving more of the
first movie's cast.

My personal theory to reconcile this movie with RE3 is that there
were two Nemesis projects in the city, the first being the one that
chased Jill around (and which she eventually killed) in the game and the
second being Matt who eventually went soft on Alice.
Now, it sounds like your friends are a bit more concerned about
continuity than I am. I'd like to see the games and movies woven
together perfectly, but I don't expect it to happen. I just make up my
own little pet theories as best I can and try to ignore the little
details that are blatantly wrong.
The thing is, it's been a while since I played RE3, but as I recall
we never actually saw how Jill got out of the city, we only saw her kill
Nemesis. So it's possible that the first little part of the movie
(before they sealed the city) took place before RE3 and everything after
took place after RE3, on the last night before the bomb.
