I have basicly finished customizing my desk top but I hav one problem I cant
figure out. The width of my start menu and all others within are too wide.
Which item in
properties>appearance>advanced would let me narrow it up?

Rename is your best bet. Each column will be as wide as it needs to be to
fit the longest text string. Example: Changing Microsoft Office 2003 to MS
Office will shorten this line item tremendously.
