Resolution Does not affect Fps !!!!

I have a very odd problem.

Basically when I lower my resolution in video games I see no fps boost like everybody else does.

The Games I play are BF4, DayZ Epoch and Standalone and Rust. But basically if I go from 1080p to 720p the framerate , doesnt improve , sometimes it gets worse .

What do you think my problem is ?

Here are my Specs:

Amd Sapphire Radeon Hd 7770
Amd Fx 6300 @ 3.5 GHz
8GB Ram 1333 Mhz


and I have a 1080p monitor.

'A 1080p monitor' - great - we know the exact make and model now. Maybe your monitor doesn't like to run at 720p.

I've never heard of this, in fact I don't think it's even possible.

You must be doing something else aside from changing the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 but I can't think what that could be.

Do I have to restart the game for it to take affect ?
