hello everyone! im getting a PS4 for the holidays and my current TV has a resolution of 1336 by 768 and the screen size is 32 inches. will that be sufficient for the ps4? or is it worth upgrading?

thanks for all the Answers!

Well, it's better than the analog TV that most people used for the PS3. (And yes, I knew people who did and still do use an analog TV for the PS3)

That being said, it takes a keen eye to discern between 720p and 1080p on my 1080p monitor. On larger screens, it may be a bit more obvious. If you've got the cash burning a hole in your pocket, go for it.

Most games will run at 1080p (1920x1080) on the PS4 and if you enjoy watching Blu-ray's you might want to consider upgrading to a 1080p TV. That being said, at 32 inches, you would have to be sitting 4 feet away or closer to be able to see the difference between 1366x768 (720p) and 1920x1080 (1080p) so depending on your circumstances it might not matter. Here is good article/calculator talking about 720p vs 1080p: http://carltonbale.com/1080p-does-matter/ Hope this helps!

It would be a better investment to take the money you would spend on a bigger TV and invest in a gaming PC. But if you don't think that's right for you, I don't think it's really worth upgrading. A lot of games will still run in 720p (upscaled) on the PS4, so you really won't be missing much.

I agree. Even Battlefield 4, a launch title, will only be running at 720p upscaled to 1080p on both PS4 and Xbox One. I love how they are advertising 4K gaming support yet launch titles are running at 720p haha.

i am actually planning to X fire 2 7870s from FAX for BF4 i already have it Preordered!. so that being said i already have a mid-range soon to be Highend Gaming PC. ill still have some money left over so im thinking about a new TV
