Resolution gets blurry once set to 120hz

I am currently using windows 7 ultimate. I have a gtx 580 graphics card and my monitor is the LG W2363D. I recently switched my HDMI cable out for a DVI-D dual link because I wanted to check out the 120hz, but once I switch on to 120hz things got blurry. My monitor then reads the resolution at 960x1080. I am a computer noob and need some help

Hello, please verify that you're using a DVI-D Dual Link cable. The cable that came with your monitor, is a DVI-D Single Link. The problem you're facing is that you don't have enough bandwidth required to reach 1920x1080 at 120 Hz.

Yep, it's probably the cable. According the threads around the internet

Your monitor actually comes with a Single, not dual link cable.

I ordered the Dual link cable separately and am 100% sure that i am using the right cable. I ordered another dvi dual link just in case the one i have is faulty but i doubt it.

Make sure that you have the monitor's drivers installed. All else fails, contact LG about the issue.

Yea everything is installed still no good. Ill wait and try with another dvi dual link. thx for the answers tho folks
