Hi all,

Just purchased a new Iiyama E2473HDS monitor, but can't unleash it's full resolution, it will only go to 1280x1024 instead of 1920x1080. I'm running windows 7 and it's connected through VGA.

If you need any other info, feel free to ask.

Thanks in advance,
B

Yep, I did that. It's done several reboots, windows update has come back with nothing for it. Looked on the iiyama site ad downloaded something for my monitor and it gave me an ICC profile. I'm lost now. Could it be that I'm running through on board VGA?

Seems unlikely, but not impossible. Even the VGA connector allows the monitor to send back information about what resolutions are supported. However, do you know what the onboard video chipset is? With an ATI/AMD or nVidia card, you probably could enable 1080p60 HDTV-style output in the settings, but onboard video might not offer anything similar.

It is a pretty old pc, so it could be down to this. I'm currently bidding on an ASUS AGP card for it so I'll see if that solves it
