After a windows 10 update in January 16th a problem showed up where nvidia pannel is showing my 1600x900 monitor as if the native resolution was 1024x768 but that isnt really the problem because while navigating through the internet or doing anyother thing besides gaming it works fine when i just set my resolution to 1600x900. But while gaming is where more affects me i always used to play in 720p to get a framerate always above 60 but when i set this resolution my game crashes or some ridiculous black bars appears only in the lower part of the screen the same day the windows 10 updated nvidia updated aswell but for some reason this happened and i dont know what is that if someone knows how to make nvidia pannel shows my native resolution as 1600x900 please tell me.

Solution
You need to clean install the graphics driver and set the driver updates to manual. Instructions on how to do both are in the sticky in this subforum.
