Okay so I'm having problems getting my monitor to display 3840x2160. I'm using a HDMI-HDMI high speed cable (pretty sure it's HDMI 2.0) which came with the monitor. Currently I'm on 2560x1440 and it's working fine, but when I try to change it to 3840x2160 at 60hz it's just a black screen and in the corner showing which output it's on which is the HDMI output, although if I try 30hz it works but obviously the 30hz is really annoying.

I've updated my GPU drivers so I don't think it's that. If you need any other information at all just ask and I'll try my best to give you what you need to help me fix my problem.

My GPU, Monitor and HDMI specs are as follows

GTX 1050TI

Samsung U32R590 32Inch Curved UHD 4K Monitor 3840x2160

HDMI Cable which came with the monitor

Hdmi cable should be high speed, doubt Samsung would make that mistake giving you a standard Hdmi cable.

Looking through your monitor's manual there appears to be a Hdmi mode setting in the monitor's osd to toggle between Hdmi 1.4 and 2. See what it's set to.

It's on 2.0, what's super weird is if you go on the amazon link for the monitor I have, a lot of people like a lot are saying HDMI port 1 is limited to 30hz but HDMI port 2 is 60hz but the monitor I have only has 1 HDMI port and 1 DP port so I have no clue what they're talking about. A lot of them seem to have the same problem as me though, saying they can't get 3840x2160 at 60hz on the HDMI port 1 but 30hz works but 60hz works at 3840x2160 on the HDMI 2 port but I only have the one HDMI port so I'm kinda confused.

The HDMI cable does say premium high speed HDMI though so I don't think it's the cable but then again I don't really know much about monitors etc

Oh ok that's confusing. Can ya double check which version you have. The specs says this model should have 2x Hdmi (v1.4 & 2) and 1x Displayport (v1.2).

Unless you got a different monitor to what was advertised put in place of the original contents?

Might have to go Displayport cable. Make sure it's HBR2/HBR2+ Vesa certified. Accell is a good brand.

When I go into change the resolution it says the monitor name is 'U32R90x'. So I think the monitor is the correct one.

I was going to order this cable, would this work? If not could you suggest one and I'll order that one to see if it works.

Display port cable

I've also found this when scrolling down on the amazon page, maybe the reviews are collected for all 4 choices and people are referring to a different monitor than what I ordered. I have the one on the end to the right which says 32 Inch Curved.

I believe this is the exact monitor as this one says it's only got 1 HDMI and if I check the back of the monitor is says
Model: U32R590CWU
Model Code: lu32r590cwuxen

Searching the model number LU32R590CWUXEN arrives for this https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/curved/32-ur59c-curved-4k-uhd-monitor-lu32r590cwnxza/

I looked at that earlier in regards to the osd options for Hdmi version. Another look at the manual suggests installing the driver. It's unusual (at least for me) for a monitor to have a single Hdmi port capable of being toggled between different versions, might be a new thing but don't really see the point since Hdmi is backwards compatible unless it's meant for older devices such as DVD players or something, im not sure.

Try install driver and see how you go. I'm finding it difficult to locate a driver for this monitor from Samsung. Their support on this is lacking. Maybe try Microsoft updates for the driver if you can't find it as well.

Displayport probably is the simplest way to go it seems.

Would this suffice Display port cable, if not can you link a compatible cable under £15. Thank you.

Not sure about that cable, it has positive feedback but not sure how reliable they are.

Club3D are one of the brands also on Vesa's certified list.

1m goes for under £15 , 2m a little more. Better off spending a little extra to avoid a dodgy cable.

Regarding Vesa certified cables;
