I have a 17 Inch Phillips 107S monitor...
When I put the resolution to 1280x1024 the screen becomes a little bit fuzzy. Would this damage my monitor in any way if I use it like that? The only other frequency instead of "optimal" is 60hz which doesnt make it better...

Without knowing the specs on that monitor and picture tube, I'd offer a guess that you are running it beyond it's focus capability.

What happens at extreme high resolutions, on some monitors, is that the pixels are actually smaller than the flying dot produced by the CRT, this causes some overlap resulting in a slight loss of focus. It is also possible that by going beyond the picture tube's dot pitch some pixels are sharing the same dots which will have a similar effect.

If the other resolutions (eg. 1024x768 or 1152x864) are nice and crisp, I wouldn't worry about it hurting the monitor... but for the sake of your eyes you might want to use the next lower resolution.

I just put new part in my computer...
I used to have a Voodoo 3, where under 1152x864 the picture was perfect.
Now Im using the onboard geforce 4 MX of my Nforce 2 motherboard and it doesnt have that resolution as an option. Is there a way maybe, to access some extra options, or maybe "force" that resolution ?

Nope... if the GPU chip doesn't offer it up as an option, you don't generally get to use it. The chip probably doesn't have the timings programmed in for it.

You can always try updating your video drivers and see what you get...

i already put new detonator drivers...didnt do anything.
i think i might even go back to my old voodoo. it sounds dumb but i liked it better...
also this dumb thing is taking its memory out of my system ram. so im running at 384 or something, from 512...

Actually i am gonna do that...i cant play Unreal 2003 with this anyway...
Ok,no Neverwinter Nights either, but who cares. I havent even finished Baldurs Gate 2 yet, and Id love to go back to it now, with a 2000XP instead of a 700Duron, so I can put all the setting on high. Also my hard drive can use 133 now instead of 66, so load times will be shorter... yay.
Oh well, I guess I gotta wait till end of summer, for games. I was gonna buy a proper card then.
